SBMAQ 2026 Giveaway Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter is MADJI PTY LTD trading as Madji Indigenous Furniture, ABN 63 641 111 355, of 3/62 Curzon Street, Tennyson, Queensland 4105.

Email: sales@madji.com.au
Phone: 1300 623 540

2. Giveaways

The Promoter is conducting two separate giveaways during the SBMAQ 2026 Conference:

  1. Barung Ottoman Giveaway
  2. Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway

Entrants may enter either or both giveaways, provided they complete the entry requirements for each giveaway.

An entry into one giveaway does not automatically enter the person into the other giveaway.

3. Eligibility

Entry is open to individuals who:

  • are aged 18 years or older;
  • attend the SBMAQ 2026 Conference;
  • represent or are employed by an Australian school, educational organisation or related organisation; and
  • submit a valid entry during the applicable promotional period.

The prize is intended for use by the winning entrant’s school or organisation and is not awarded to the entrant for private or personal use.

Employees, directors and immediate family members of the Promoter, the event organiser and businesses directly involved in administering the giveaways are not eligible to enter.

4. Promotional period

Both giveaways open at [insert opening time] on 5 August 2026 and close at [insert closing time] on 6 August 2026.

All times are in Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Entries received before or after the promotional period will not be accepted.

Replace the bracketed times once you decide exactly when entries open and close. For example, you could use 8:00 am on 5 August 2026 and 3:00 pm on 6 August 2026.

5. How to enter the Barung Ottoman Giveaway

To enter the Barung Ottoman Giveaway, an eligible person must:

  1. scan the relevant giveaway QR code or visit the giveaway webpage;
  2. complete all required fields in the Barung Ottoman Giveaway entry form;
  3. agree to these Terms and Conditions; and
  4. submit the completed form during the promotional period.

No purchase is necessary.

Only one Barung Ottoman Giveaway entry per person is permitted.

Incomplete, duplicate, automated or fraudulent entries may be deemed invalid.

6. How to enter the Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway

To enter the Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway, an eligible person must:

  1. locate the displayed Wing 75 chairs at the SBMAQ 2026 Conference;
  2. take a photograph featuring themselves with one or both displayed chairs;
  3. scan the relevant QR code or visit the giveaway webpage;
  4. provide the same work email address used for any previous giveaway entry, where applicable;
  5. upload the photograph and complete all required fields;
  6. agree to these Terms and Conditions; and
  7. submit the completed form during the promotional period.

No purchase is necessary.

Only one Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway entry per person is permitted.

The entrant must be identifiable in the uploaded photograph. The photograph must be appropriate, lawful and taken during the SBMAQ 2026 Conference.

The Promoter may deem an entry invalid where the uploaded image:

  • does not feature the entrant with the displayed Wing 75 chair;
  • contains offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or unlawful material;
  • infringes another person’s privacy, copyright or other rights;
  • includes another identifiable person without their knowledge or permission; or
  • has been materially altered, generated or manipulated in a way that misrepresents the entry.

7. Marketing consent

Agreeing to receive Madji marketing communications is optional and is not a condition of entry.

An entrant’s decision not to subscribe to marketing communications will not affect their eligibility or chance of winning.

Entrants who choose to subscribe may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in Madji marketing emails.

Keeping marketing consent separate from competition entry is appropriate because privacy consent should be informed and not unnecessarily bundled with unrelated purposes.

8. Barung Ottoman prize

The prize for the Barung Ottoman Giveaway is:

One Madji Barung Ottoman.

The exact upholstery, artwork, finish and configuration will be the item displayed or otherwise identified in the giveaway promotional material.

The prize does not include accessories, additional furniture, installation or other items shown in promotional photography unless expressly stated.

The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

9. Wing 75 Chair prize

The prize for the Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway is:

One Wing 75 chair upholstered in Madji 2 fabric.

Although two Wing 75 chairs may be displayed at the conference, only one chair is included in the prize.

The prize does not include the coffee table, accessories, additional furniture, installation or other items appearing in promotional photography or at the event unless expressly stated.

The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

10. Delivery

Free standard delivery is included to the winning school or organisation where the delivery address is located within Madji’s nominated service area, extending from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast in Queensland.

The Promoter will confirm whether a delivery address falls within the free-delivery area.

Where the winning school or organisation is outside this area:

  • additional freight charges may apply;
  • the winner may arrange and pay for freight;
  • the winner may arrange collection from a location nominated by the Promoter; or
  • the Promoter and winner may agree to another suitable delivery arrangement.

The Promoter will advise the winner of any additional freight charge before delivery is arranged.

Free delivery does not include:

  • installation;
  • assembly unless expressly agreed;
  • removal of existing furniture;
  • delivery requiring specialised lifting equipment;
  • delivery involving restricted, unsafe or difficult access; or
  • delivery outside ordinary business hours.

The winner must provide a safe and reasonably accessible delivery location.

This same delivery limitation should also appear in brief on the flyer and landing page because shipping and delivery claims must be accurate and important limitations should be disclosed clearly.

11. Winner selection

One winner will be selected separately for each giveaway by random draw.

The draws will take place on [insert draw date, time and location].

Each valid entry in the applicable giveaway will have an equal chance of being selected.

The first valid entry randomly selected from each giveaway will be the provisional winner of that giveaway.

A person may win only one prize. If the same entrant is first selected for both giveaways, the entrant will receive the prize from the first draw conducted, and the second giveaway will be redrawn from the remaining valid entries.

A practical draw date would be 7 August 2026, rather than 31 July, because the competition cannot be drawn before the conference entries close.

12. Winner notification

Each provisional winner will be contacted using the email address and/or telephone number supplied with their entry within two business days after the draw.

The winner’s name, school or organisation and prize may be announced on Madji’s website, social media channels or other promotional channels, subject to any consent required by law.

The Promoter will not publish the winner’s private contact details.

13. Claiming the prize

Each winner must respond and accept their prize within 14 days after the notification is sent.

The Promoter may request reasonable evidence confirming the winner’s:

  • identity;
  • age;
  • employment or association with the nominated school or organisation;
  • attendance at the conference; and
  • compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

The Promoter may also request confirmation from the nominated school or organisation that it is willing and able to accept the prize.

If a provisional winner:

  • cannot be contacted;
  • does not respond within 14 days;
  • does not provide the requested evidence;
  • is found to be ineligible;
  • declines the prize; or
  • otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions,

the Promoter may select a replacement winner by conducting another random draw from the remaining valid entries for that giveaway.

14. Uploaded photographs

Photographs uploaded for the Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway will be collected and used for the purpose of:

  • administering and verifying entries;
  • identifying and contacting the winner;
  • preventing duplicate or invalid entries; and
  • maintaining reasonable promotional records.

Submitting a photograph does not automatically give the Promoter permission to publish or use it for general marketing purposes.

Madji will obtain separate permission before publishing an entrant’s photograph for promotional or marketing purposes, unless the form contains a clear, separate and optional photo-use consent.

An identifiable photograph may constitute personal information, and organisations should clearly explain why images are collected and how they will be used.

15. Optional photo-use consent

Where an entrant separately agrees to photo-use consent, the entrant authorises the Promoter to reproduce, publish and communicate the submitted photograph through Madji’s:

  • website;
  • social media accounts;
  • email communications;
  • event materials; and
  • other promotional materials.

This consent is optional and is not a condition of entering or winning.

The entrant may contact the Promoter to withdraw consent for future uses. Withdrawal will not necessarily affect material already printed, published or distributed before the withdrawal was received.

The entrant confirms that they have the authority to provide this permission and that they have obtained permission from any other identifiable person appearing in the photograph.

16. Privacy

The Promoter may collect entrants’ names, email addresses, telephone numbers, organisations, form responses and, for the Wing 75 Chair Photo Giveaway, uploaded photographs.

This information will be collected and used for the purpose of:

  • administering the giveaways;
  • validating entries;
  • confirming eligibility;
  • contacting and verifying winners;
  • arranging prize delivery;
  • managing any agreed publicity; and
  • sending marketing communications only where the entrant has separately agreed to receive them.

Personal information may be provided to service providers involved in administering the giveaways, hosting the entry form, storing uploaded photographs, selecting winners or delivering prizes.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with Madji’s Privacy Policy, available at [insert Privacy Policy link].

Entrants may contact the Promoter using the details in section 1 to request access to or correction of their personal information.

Personal information should only be collected where reasonably necessary and should generally be used for the purpose for which it was collected unless another lawful basis applies.

17. Publicity

Each winner may be invited to participate in reasonable promotional activity relating to the giveaway, such as:

  • a winner announcement;
  • a photograph with the prize;
  • a short testimonial; or
  • a photograph of the prize within the winning school.

Participation in additional publicity will be discussed with the winner and their school or organisation separately.

Unless otherwise clearly stated and agreed, agreeing to publicity is not a condition of receiving the prize.

18. Verification and disqualification

The Promoter reserves the right to verify entries and disqualify an entrant who:

  • submits false, incomplete or misleading information;
  • submits more entries than permitted;
  • interferes with or attempts to manipulate the entry or draw process;
  • uses automated entry methods;
  • submits an image that breaches these Terms and Conditions;
  • fails to demonstrate eligibility; or
  • otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions.

The Promoter’s decisions regarding entry validity and eligibility will be final, subject to applicable law.

19. Changes or cancellation

If either giveaway cannot proceed as planned because of circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may modify, suspend, postpone or cancel the affected giveaway, subject to applicable law.

The Promoter will take reasonable steps to notify affected entrants of any material change.

20. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for:

  • entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted or incorrectly submitted;
  • failures of internet, QR code, website, form-hosting or file-upload services;
  • damage to an entrant’s device arising from participation;
  • incorrect contact information supplied by an entrant; or
  • delays caused by freight providers or circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

21. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Entrants submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and any courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
