Restoring with purpose and care.
A thoughtful refurbishment supported by cultural connection and continuity.
This project involved the refurbishment of existing lobby seating within a broadcast facility, delivering a refreshed outcome while maintaining continuity within the space.
Rather than replacing the original furniture, the solution focused on reupholstering existing pieces - extending their lifespan while introducing new materiality and visual identity. During this process, a yarning circle lounge was provided to ensure the space remained functional and welcoming throughout the transition.
Working in collaboration with a First Nations artist, the updated finishes incorporate Indigenous artwork, bringing cultural narrative and meaning into the environment. The result is a space that not only feels renewed, but also carries a deeper sense of identity and connection.
This project reflects a considered approach to design - where sustainability, functionality, and storytelling come together to create a meaningful and lasting outcome.
